How to Wrap a Styrofoam Half-Sphere With CP

Ladybug made with foam ball cut in half
Many air-dry clay projects call for Styrofoam shapes as armatures for figure modeling. Quite a few people have mentioned they are having trouble covering the foam with clay without getting cracks or trapped air. We've previously featured videos on covering foam
balls (see Labels "Styrofoam").  In the following video, Marisol Romero demonstrates the proper way to wrap HALF a Styrofoam ball with cold porcelain.   The foam ball has been cut in half to make body of ladybug and some fruit decorations.

Dialog is in Spanish, but even if you don't understand the language you should be able to follow along. Marisol clearly and carefully shows each step.

We've featured a few other videos from Marisol showing the proper way to wrap Styrofoam shapes with cold porcelain (without getting cracks or trapped air)...see Labels "Styrofoam" to view those videos.   Her videos are very educational for those just getting started with cold porcelain.   She also offers classes on her website (about $20 each course).

Thank you very much for taking the time to comment! ;-)
Sorry I had to re-instate the 'word verification'...I'm getting far too much spam in the comment box.
